Set to release on May 19, 2026, Forza Horizon 6 is bringing new ways to experience Japan’s stunning open world with revamped co-op and social modes. The game has evolved the Horizon formula to integrate multiplayer features seamlessly into the free-roam experience. Here’s everything you need to know about the new co-op modes coming to the game.
New Co-Op and Social Modes
Horizon CoLab (EventLab 2.0)
For the first time in Forza Horizon, up to 12 players can come together to build custom tracks and residential areas in real-time. Horizon CoLab takes EventLab to the next level, allowing you and your friends to design circuits, obstacle courses, and scenic routes directly within the shared open world. The best part? It’s entirely collaborative and takes place without any loading screens.
Time Attack Circuits
Time Attack Circuits are new competitive hubs scattered across Japan. Simply drive up to a circuit gantry and instantly begin a lap to compete against your friends’ ghost cars. Each circuit has global leaderboards, so you can see how your times stack up against the world’s best.
Drag Meets
Drag Meets are another exciting addition, where up to 12 players can race side-by-side in synchronized start light events. These drag races are integrated directly into the open world, so there’s no need for loading or menus—just pull up, line up, and race. Real-time leaderboards will track who crosses the finish line first.
Hide & Seek
A fan-favorite returning from past Horizon games, Forza Horizon 6 adds a new twist to Hide & Seek. In this multiplayer mode, players take turns hiding and seeking, in a race to find and avoid being found. This intense, nail-biting mode is perfect for those who want a break from traditional racing.
Spec Racing Championships
For those who love structured, competitive racing, Spec Racing Championships offer a new challenge. In this mode, players race in identical or strictly regulated car classes. It's all about skill, as every car is on a level playing field, so you’ll need to bring your best racing game to the track.
Social Features
Customizable Garages & Estates
Every player now has a customizable garage at their personal estate. You can showcase up to four of your cars, and invite friends to come and check out your collection. Want to show off your rides or share your custom tunings? This is the place to do it.
The Estate
Each player gets access to their very own massive mountain valley estate. Here, you can build structures, display cars, or simply invite others to view your collection. It’s a personal space where you can relax, hang out with friends, or work on your dream garage.
Open-World Car Meets
Car Meets are social hubs where players can gather to share and admire cars. You can view others’ vehicles, download their tunings, or even purchase direct copies of their cars. This feature gives Forza Horizon 6 players more ways to interact and trade without leaving the world.
Co-Op LINK Skills
To encourage teamwork, Forza Horizon 6 introduces Co-Op LINK Skills. These skills reward players for racing and exploring together in convoys, further strengthening the co-op experience.
Convoy and Campaign Progression
Full Campaign Support
The entire Forza Horizon 6 campaign is fully playable in co-op mode. Convoy leaders can direct the group’s activities and progress through the game. Completing races unlocks the “Race Customizer,” allowing players to adjust weather, traffic, and Drivatar difficulty for the entire group. This ensures that everyone can enjoy a tailored experience in the campaign.
Asymmetric Multiplayer
Even when you’re not actively racing with friends, Forza Horizon 6 will keep the competitive spirit alive. As you explore the open world, you’ll encounter “ghosts” of your friends’ cars. These serve as a reminder to beat their scores on billboards, speed traps, and other challenges.
