EZNPC What Makes Leafeon ex So Broken in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Leafeon ex in Pokémon TCG Pocket is kinda nuts: cheap Grass Energy acceleration, steady damage, easy switches, and scary combos with Celebi ex that let budget Grass decks punch way above their weight.
Spend a few matches in the current Pokémon TCG Pocket ladder and you'll see the same thing over and over: Grass decks everywhere, all running Leafeon ex as the core engine. People talk about energy lock in this game all the time because you're meant to attach just one per turn, and that normally keeps boards fairly slow. Leafeon's Forest Breath just ignores that rule, pulling a Grass Energy straight out of the discard and sticking it on one of your Pokémon, and when you combine that kind of ramp with how easy it is to buy game currency or items in EZNPC Pokemon TCG Pocket, your board suddenly goes from awkward to fully online in almost no time at all.
Why Leafeon ex Feels So Safe To LeadLeafeon ex is not only an engine card, it's also a pretty decent wall. Sitting at 140 HP, it usually lives through the early swings that come from basic attackers, which means you can throw it out front without feeling like you're sacrificing tempo. Solar Beam for 70 is not flashy on paper, but in practice it's enough chip to finish off things that Celebi ex has softened up or to pressure weak benches. While Leafeon is soaking hits and recycling energy, you're quietly building a board that's ready to explode on the next turn or two, and opponents often realize a bit too late that they've let you set up for free.
The Celebi ex Coin-Flip BlowoutThe real nonsense starts once Celebi ex comes down. Continuous Steps reads like a meme attack the first time you see it, since it depends on coin flips and only does 20 per heads. Once Leafeon ex is feeding it energy every turn though, the risk starts to feel pretty small. You do not mind whiffing once or twice when you know the attack is coming again next turn. When the flips go your way, you're suddenly throwing 5, 6, sometimes more heads, and out of nowhere you're deleting chunky targets like Magnezone or Pachirisu ex in a single swing. It's the kind of damage spike that makes your opponent stare at their screen for a second wondering what just happened.
Trainers That Keep The Engine RunningThe list a lot of people gravitate to ends up being very lean, something like a 20-card build with two Leafeon ex, two Eevee, and two Celebi ex as the backbone, then you cram the rest with Trainers that keep the plan smooth. Erika is doing a lot of work here, patching up the damage Leafeon takes while it camps in the active spot. Giant Cape pushes that bulk even higher so your opponent has to overcommit just to score a knockout. Irida is sneaky good because it can fetch the Water Energy that lets you chain healing or tech plays, and Sabrina gives you ways to disrupt or snipe the bench when people try to hide their key pieces. The deck feels like a weird mix of control and sudden burst, where you stall just long enough to line up a huge Celebi turn.
Matchups, Weak Spots And Climbing The LadderEven with all that going for it, the deck's not autopilot. Fire builds punish you hard if you're careless, and a Palkia ex that gets rolling early can absolutely blow through your board before you stabilize. When you see Palkia in team preview, you really want to protect your bench, and a Manaphy tech is worth the slot if your meta is full of spread damage. Against most Electric and Fighting decks though, Leafeon ex feels borderline unfair, shrugging off hits thanks to resistance while still swinging back for meaningful damage. For new players trying to learn lines, the game plan is straightforward, but there's enough room for sequencing tricks and small decisions that grinders can stick with it for a long time, especially if they're juggling different builds or swapping between multiple strong Pokemon TCG Pocket Accounts.
